Mission
The Montréal .NET Community (Communauté .NET Montréal in French) is replacing the user group formerly known as “Groupe d’Usagers Visual Studio Montréal” (GUVSM) to better represent the diversity of its activities.
Composed of four user groups: .NET, SQL Server, Architecture and Team System, the Montréal .NET Community allows anybody interested in Microsoft .NET technologies to receive technical content, learn and exchange new tips and tricks.
The community has 4 meetings every month (from September to June):
- .NET user group (lead by Guy Barrette - Microsoft Regional Director and MVP ASP.NET): 1-2 meetings every month
- Team System user group (lead by Claude Rémillard and Étienne Tremblay – both MVP Team System): 1 meeting every other month
- SQL Server user group (lead by Éric Moreau - MVP Visual Basic): 1 meeting every other month
- Architecture user group (lead by Mario Cardinal, MVP Software Architecture): 1 meeting every other month
Language
We invite speakers who present in both languages, French and English, and you are more then welcome to ask questions in the language of your choice. However, the group tries to work predominantly in French.
Regular meetings at night
Meetings start around 6.15 PM and finish no later than 9 PM. There is no need to reserve your seat, you just need to show up at the meeting you want. Volunteers will welcome you at the door. The orgranizers are continuously working to find excellent speakers and great topics for you. Meetings are held in the Microsoft office downtown Montréal.

Membership
Meetings are free for the members of the Montréal .NET Community. If you want to become a member, the membership fee is $25 for a full year. You can pay cash at the door and payment has to be submitted to the volunteers only. If you want to pay by credit card, you can use the PayPal link on the right side of this screen. PayPal payment is secured and the Montréal .NET Community never gets access to your credit card information. If you are not a member and you want to attend a particular meeting, you will be asked to pay $5 (payable in cash to the volunteers at the door only).
Associations
In order to provide you good with quality speakers, the Montréal .NET Community is a member of the International .NET Association (INETA) and the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS).
